(Thanks to UU Carolyn Laughlin from the Unitarian Church of Evanston for this connection!) Monday through Friday Two hour shifts between 8:30-4:45 ================================================== ONGOING Unitarian Society of Menomonie helps homeless kids The Unitarian Society of Menomonie discovered that there are an estimated 100 homeless children in the community and USM is trying to do something about it. The Homeless Kids Project began during the height of the pandemic. The UU church has held two benefits to raise money for food and personal item bags to leave at pop-up pantries in designated locations. Other churches, local businesses and fraternal organizations have also donated to the cause. USM has also used the money donations to buy gift cards for haircuts, pool passes during the summer, and bus passes so that the kids can get around town more easily. In addition, USM has been working with the School District of Menomonie to gather and donate clothing and other items to their school clothes closets for kids in need. You can contact Juliana Schmidt, USM Board President (715/505-3525; anoldsweetsong@hotmail.com) or Mary Beth Lvoncek (715/505-2776) for more information about the Homeless Kids Project. ============================================================
