Please join WUUSAN in welcoming Rev. Denise Cawley to our team as Marketing Manager!

Reverend Denise has pastored congregations in Oregon, Illinois and Wisconsin and works as a chaplain for Aurora Advocate Healthcare and an administrator at the UU-Minister’s Association. Presently, she is advancing her trauma expertise as she studies for the Kintsugi Resilience Associate (KRA) Certification with Community Care Chaplains. For more than 25 years she has been pivotal player in LGBTQ rights, abortion care, healthcare justice, marriage equality, and voting access. Before ministry, Rev. Denise owned a marketing agency for over 15 years building brand identities, managing communications, building campaigns, and strategizing public relations for both for profit and non-profit organizations.

Reverend Denise brings visual arts, interactive rituals, and dramatic storytelling into her ministry. Artmaking is a vivid part of her spiritual practice and that of healing journeys she offers.  

She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her spouse, Rev. Matt Aspin, two fuzzy dogs and her college age son. She is a graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School, Alverno College, and studied at Parsons School of Design.
